Each September, The Armory Show transforms New York’s Javits Center into the premier gathering for modern and contemporary art. Yet its name—and spirit—trace back to 1913, when the “International Exhibition of Modern Art” at the 69th Regiment Armory introduced Duchamp, Sloan and Europe’s avant-garde to America.
