Art Advisors
Projects
At SoTA Collection, our projects reflect an intentional approach to art consulting supporting artists, museums, and collectors through thoughtful collaboration.
Our work includes both current partnerships and past initiatives that have shaped our practice: museum engagements, artist services, private commissions, and advisory work.
Below is a curated selection of ongoing and completed projects that illustrate the breadth and evolution of SoTA’s work.

The Language of Color
Role: Curatorial Direction, Exhibition Organization &
Public Program Development
Institution: CityArts, Downtown Arts District, Orlando
Artist: Carolina Guillermet
Year: January 20 – February 13, 2022
In January 2022, SoTA Collection curated and organized The Language of Color, the first solo presentation in Orlando dedicated to Swiss–Costa Rican artist Carolina Guillermet, whose work explores geometry, light, and chromatic perception across tapestry, sculpture, painting, and drawing.
This exhibition also marked Mariela Saad’s first exploration of the curatorial field, offering an opportunity to articulate a rigorous and sensitive curatorial framework grounded in color theory, sensory experience, and geometric abstraction. Through this project, SoTA began shaping its curatorial voice in dialogue with contemporary artists and community institutions.
Developed in partnership with the Downtown Arts District, the exhibition introduced Central Florida audiences to Guillermet’s nuanced chromatic language—described by critic Edgar Cherubini Lecuna as resonating with the legacy of Piet Mondrian—and highlighted her meditative approach to visual construction and emotional architecture.
A suite of public programs accompanied the exhibition, designed to deepen audience engagement:
-
Private introduction & reception (Jan 20)
-
Exhibition opening (Jan 20)
-
Artist lecture — “The Language of Colors” (Jan 21)
The exhibition and its publication were made possible through the collaboration between State of The Art Collection and the Downtown Arts District.
This project reflects SoTA’s early curatorial commitments and its ongoing dedication to presenting contemporary artistic practices with depth, rigor, and community engagement.

Diagrams
Role:Curatorial Participation, Institutional Liaison, Acquisition Oversight & Exhibition Installation
Institution: CityArts, Downtown Arts District, Orlando
Artist: Alexander Wtges
Year: 2022
In 2022, SoTA Collection supported the development and presentation of “Diagrams,” the first solo exhibition in Orlando by Panamanian artist and designer Alexander Wtges, presented at the Side Gallery within CityArts. The exhibition was organized in partnership with SoTA Collection, The Wallery Art Studio, and the Downtown Arts District.
The show brought together recent works from Wtges’ series Diagramas, Islas, and Elementos, highlighting his synthesis of geometry, nature, and architectural codes. Rooted in grids, proportions, and design logic, his compositions bridge ancient structural knowledge with modernist ideals—transforming geometric order into a contemporary visual language where fragments, textures, and free chromatic decisions create balance and rhythm.
The exhibition strengthened SoTA’s ongoing relationship with the Downtown Arts District and expanded its work in supporting Latin American artists within Central Florida’s contemporary art ecosystem.
This project reflects SoTA’s collaborative, detail-driven approach to gallery partnerships, curatorial support, and the professional presentation of artists across international contexts.

Concept Development &
Custom Art Design Proposal
Role: Project Creation, Artistic Direction & Concept Proposal
Client: MOKE America
Artists: Alex Wtges & Maria Camila Bernal
Year: 2021
In 2021, SoTA Collection conceived and developed a custom art and design proposal for MOKE America, envisioning a series of artist-designed vehicles that merged contemporary aesthetics with the brand’s distinctive identity.
Working with artists Alex Wtges and Maria Camila Bernal, SoTA led the creative direction of the project, designing two visually distinct concepts that explored bold geometric language and botanical linework. The result was a pair of design models presented to MOKE as a potential limited-edition series.
This project reflects SoTA’s capacity to originate innovative, design-driven concepts and to partner with artists in developing high-impact creative proposals for lifestyle and luxury brands.

The Panama Clinic
Role: Opportunity Identification, Concept Ideation, Artistic Selection & Proposal Development
Site: Private Medical Clinic, Panama City
Artist: Carlos Cruz-Diez
Year: 2020
In 2020, SoTA (State of the Art) identified an opportunity to integrate contemporary art into the interior architecture of a new medical clinic in Panama City, envisioning a patient-centered environment enriched through the chromatic investigations of Carlos Cruz-Diez, one of the most influential figures in kinetic and optical art.
Working closely with the Cruz-Diez Art Foundation and Articruz, SoTA developed a proposal for a series of site-specific artworks to be incorporated throughout the clinic. The concept focused on transforming waiting areas, corridors, and key interior zones through Cruz-Diez’s Couleur Additive work and chromatic event modules — pieces known for activating perception, generating visual movement, and introducing calm, sensory engagement into shared spaces.
The proposal emphasized:
-
Integration of Cruz-Diez artworks in harmony with the clinic’s architectural design
-
Human-centered visual environments, designed to create warmth, vitality, and emotional comfort
-
A commitment to reducing patient anxiety, aligned with the artist’s vision for transforming medical spaces through color
Cruz-Diez’s lifelong belief that chromatic art can soften clinical environments, creating a more human and reassuring experience, guided the artistic and conceptual development of the proposal.
SoTA led the ideation, artistic framing, and development of the presentation, coordinating directly with the artist’s studio and ensuring alignment between artistic intent and the client’s operational goals.
This project reflects SoTA’s ability to craft thoughtful, site-specific proposals that elevate healthcare environments through contemporary art.

Art Corridor
Role: Opportunity Identification, Concept Ideation, Meeting Coordination & Proposal Development
Client / Site: Florida Hospital, Orlando
Artist: Carlos Cruz-Diez
Year: 2018
In 2018, SoTA (State of the Art) identified an opportunity to reimagine the urban connection between Florida Hospital and the nearby cultural institutions in Orlando. This vision evolved into a Cultural Corridor proposal centered on the chromatic language of Franco-Venezuelan master Carlos Cruz-Diez, whose work has long transformed public spaces through color, perception, and movement.
SoTA conceived and developed a multi-site artistic intervention, partnering with the Cruz-Diez Art Foundation and Articruz to bring forward a proposal that included:
-
Chromatic crosswalks at Florida Hospital, activating the pedestrian experience through Cruz-Diez’s Couleur Additive modules.
-
A second series of crosswalk interventions extending into the museum district, connecting the hospital to the Orlando Museum of Art through a unified visual language.
-
A proposed immersive, interactive installation inside the Orlando Museum of Art, designed to deepen the public’s sensory engagement with color and spatial perception.
In a gesture aligned with his lifelong dream to transform medical environments into spaces that feel more human, warm, and free from anguish, Cruz-Diez expressed willingness to design the crosswalks at no charge, reinforcing the social and cultural value of the project.
SoTA led the ideation, coordination, and development of this proposal—initiating institutional conversations, facilitating meetings, and shaping the artistic and conceptual direction of the Cultural Corridor vision.
This project reflects SoTA’s capacity to generate transformative cultural concepts, connect global artists with community spaces, and articulate proposals that bridge art, public life, and institutional ecosystems.
